JOB DESCRIPTION:
Receive baby from nursery. Hand wash before and after handling baby, it is essential to avoid infection.
Maintain room temperature within normal range to avoid hypothermia of babies.
Check babys condition, appearance, heart rate, respiration, good muscle tone, responsive. Refer for any untoward signs & symptoms.
Routine daily care such as morning warm bath.
Temperature of bottle feed should also be tested before it is offered to baby.
Following the necessary procedures, the baby should be warmly, dressed and place in a pre-heated cot beside the mother to allow him to rest until feeding time.
Ensure the number of people handling the baby to avoid source of infection.
In caring for the baby, ensure promotion of parent-baby relationship, it is integral to all aspects of care.
Ensure babies are provided with their own equipment, adequate linen supplies are essential to prevent infection. Advice should be given to mother about safety and proper nursing care to baby in the home.
Nursing Assistant:
Wash hands between contacts with patient. Ensure that patients are in a safe and comfortable health care environment.
Attended to patients unable to feed themselves.
Do vital signs and check patient condition, blood pressure, pulse rate, temperature. Observe patient physical and emotional status.
Changed the sheets and rotated the beds in proper nursing manner.
Preventing injuries for high risk patient, like patient behavior, disoriented and elderly.
Maintain skill level and knowledge of safety procedures if disaster occurs.
Provide daily nursing care like bathing to prevent body odor, possible infection. To relax and improve circulation, added benefits to play therapeutic role in bath care. Warm or hot bath allows more blood flow and increased nutrition to the skin.
Assisted patient to the bathroom, oral hygiene, offering bedpan.
Assisted nurses needing help for specific patient tasks.
